This is a great drill, because you don’t need to be at training to do it. In fact you do it in front of the TV, in the commercial breaks.
Simply lie on your back, knees bent and feet in the air, crunch a little bit, so your shoulders are just off the ground allowing your torso swivel. Start setting the ball to yourself. Keep it smooth and work on the softness of your hands. Try to make the setting silent.
I’m doing at least 100 per day at the moment. I don’t watch TV most days, but it takes about 3 minutes to do 100 sets, so I do them before I go to bed, or in the morning.
From when I started, until the first tournament, I will have made around about 21,000 sets. That is 21,000 touches of the ball that I would not have made otherwise. It definitely can’t hurt.
