Strengths and weaknesses

The first stage of preparation for our training program is to establish strengths and weaknesses.

Andy and I have the following strengths:

Power hitting.

Power serving.

Andy has a great high line and high “goto” shot.

We both have steady heads, and have played a lot of high grade volleyball.

We are both physiaclly very strong.

At present, these are the weaknesses that I have identified:

Setting.

My shot selection and variety of shots.

Consistency when executing an attack.

Hard driven defence.

Areas that are not strong, but not a “weakness” as such. These areas will need some work and by improving these areas, we can take some pressure off our weaknesses.

Service reception.

Float serving.
