Mixed day for Aussie girls

The good news is that Palmer-Bawden AUS made it through the qualifiers. They won their first match quite convincingly against the team from Great britain, (who interestingly is being coached by our very own Matt Grinlaubs). They then went on to win a very close match against the German qualification team of Banck-Günther GER [2] – 2-0 (27-25, 21-18). They will be is a tough pool with the Brazilians, Italians and Swiss in the main draw, starting with Larissa-Juliana BRA [3] first up this morning.

Our other team, Rohkamper-Jensen AUS [19], won easily in the morning against Maaseide-Kongshavn NOR [14] in two sets, controlling the game from the first serve. Unfortunately they lost in an epic battle against the Sweedish team; Lundqvist-Ljungquist SWE. 2-1 (19-21, 24-22, 16-14). Just one of those games that could have gone either way.
