Last time Schacht-Slack AUS played Emanuel-Ricardo was in pool play in Paris three weeks ago. The Aussies won in a close 2 setter, 21 – 19, 25 – 27.
Now they play the Brazilians again, but this time it’s for a Gold Medal. We haven’t had an Australian mens team in a final of an FIVB World Tour event since Prosser-Zahner won in Belgium, (ages ago). Finally, here we are, with a real chance to take a first place.

“We have worked a long time for this opportunity” said Slack. “It is great to have a chance to win our first event here in Canada where the support has been great along with having our family and Beach Volleyball compatriots supporting us here this week. We have had some success against Emanuel and Ricardo, but we know that we’ll have to be at our very best tomorrow to defeat one of the greatest teams of all-time.”
